Hi all
I should have one of these arrive in the post soon, anyone had one of these before? Any essential tips or tricks? I intend on running it with 4s lipo as a speed machine. Cheers

Got one, the diff and gearbox is original Cougar so can't take a lot of power (the diff doesn't like it). We raced them with the Schumacher BTCC, mainly 12t brushed motors and 6 cells but experiemented with brushless when they came to the fore in 2006. I had a 5700kv Mtroniks system in, basic but fun to drive.
I still have mine buried away in storage somewhere.

I sprayed a body for one.... boy that took alot of paint!! It belonged to a friend (& proprietor of Modeltech). We ran that car in the Schumacher BTCC series too.... with one of the first (& basic) brushless systems that Modeltech sold - probably back in the early 2000s? I think it still ran on a six cell pack of batteries & was reasonably quick (well alot quicker than the standard car) But I think you would struggle to get the 100mph out of it - that you suggest on your blog site - its just too heavy & the shell is un-aerodynamic
![]() ![]() I drove the car on a few occasions - its certainly different to driving cars of a smaller scale - to a certain extent it feels more realistic, it reacts slowly & drifting slides can be held quite nicely - like a real Exige the Big6 is quite tail happy! |

I suggested to Robin Schumacher at the time that it'd be a great idea to swap the body for a downforce LMP-style body, maybe with a tie up through Radical. More grip, less drag, great realism. If someone could make one of those bodies in 1/6th, you'll get a lot closer to 100mph than with the Sport Elise body.

I to remember racing a big 6 at Stafford and good fun it was , as i recall we raced for 4 minutes and 12turn motor was the norm. You also needed the racing tyre as the kit item was to hard.
11 laps in 4 minutes was a good pace to set at Stafford track |
