Default fiesta tdci engine cuts out

My daughters fiesta 1.4 tdci has started what she describes as losing power for a few seconds as if the engine cuts off. Its a 56 plate with 26000miles fully serviced but due one now. She,s done 9000 miles since she bought it in september mainly motorway driving 500 miles a week then local stuff. I drove it a few days ago and it seemed perfect.
I,ve booked it in for a service and diagnostic check but does anyone have any idea what it may be before I get told a b c from the dealer £££

we have problems with glow plug relays, though normally puts on a light, and yup before the arm chair mechanics come on, it does make em loose power.....
also have problems with air ingress on leak off pipes, which reguires a new engine pipe "loom" though that normally causes poor start after being stood, only other thing is fuel rail pressure sensor connector plug can get a poor conection and on acceleration it dies just like somone turns off the key then turns it back on.
let me know what they find im a master tech at a ford dealer and been on fords for near 20 years so can look into thierdiag for you see if its feasable

Thanks for that but its going to a local garage. A lad I raced with did work experience at our ford garage and he said they ragged the crap out of cars on test drives and sometimes just cleaned up parts instead of replacing them so it put me off them years ago.
I,ll post results after service.

Do these suffer from sticky turbo vanes ? as it sounds like if it were a vag its going into limp mode due to overboosting ?
Just hasnt done a lot of miles which is usually the killer on tdi engines as it soots up the turbo

Driving behind it there no smoke belching out and the time I've driven it it feels really smooth. It did only 2k per year for the first 2 years then 11k from 09 till sept 11 and she,s done 8k in 5 months. last owner got ill so it was'nt used much before we had it. We live 1 mile from the mway so its at 65-70mph most of the time so should'nt that have burnt off any residues.

I seam to remember when i worked for ford as a mechanic, EGR valves used to go on the fiesta tdci's and that caused them to be down on power
