Default Attracting more drivers

I nar I'm new, but I was trying to think of ways to attract more people to the club.

This has probably already been tried, but I wondered if it would be worthwhile the club buying a couple of budget cars so that a couple of people can attend without having to have forked out to buy all the kit. We'd hope that they'd get hooked, buy the gear and be involved for the long term.

From the days of Belmont it seems number have really dropped? Why? Is it because it's expensive? Is racing on at the wrong time? Maybe people just don't know it's a hobby you can take up?

We race in a youth centre, how many posters do we have up on the walls advertising the club?

Has the club sent letters/posters to schools to they can pass them onto the kids?

Just a few suggestions, I'd be happy to help where I can.

Lets bring this up at the AGM.

I dont believe club cars work, but I have a few points to make.

I believe having a couple of cars setup with good gear in them, prepared to a high standard, ready to buy for a beginner would be good??? No loan cars though.

I was going to volunteer on the committee, in the role of club promoter ... sounds like it could be a joint effort between me and Shaun?

I'm sure with a bit of effort, we could set a high target for 2013 - say to attract an extra 20 drivers to the club.

Yeh sorry, I forgot to mention I brought this up on here as I don't know if I'll make it for the AGM on Sunday. I'll be there to race but I don't know if I can get there any earlier...we'll see.

Like I say, I'm happy to put a little into the club to help improve it.

I'd also like to speak with someone that knows a little about the software used to track the cars. i.e. Is there an export option that allows you to export race information after each event? I know you can generate a crappy HTML page. If there is an export option, I'm pretty sure I can create a database driven site for the club where people can check their times and compare them to previous weeks etc...I just need to get the data off the system and into a database I can work with.

Hopefully I'll make the AGM.
