Default Sirio Engine / Glow plug Question

Hi All,

So im new to all this 8th stuff and went to put the glow plug in this evening to fire up the car for the first time and it wouldnt fit. I've just taken the head off to have a proper look at the thread and its clearly a different size.

I have been told that the plugs that i should use to start are the os p3's and the engine i have is the one below;

Sirio s21-bxt1r

Displacement 3,5 cc
Stroke 16,80 mm
Bore 16,22 mm
Ports 5
Sleeve ABC
Exhaust Rear
Weight 370 g
Crankshaft Ø 14,20 mm SG Type
Carburettor Type CNC Aluminium Slide Single Adj.
Plug Type Turbo
Power Comparison 9

Any thoughts on whats wrong and what i need? And for reference when the heads off there is a what looks like an alu plate with the thread in.

Cheers

Danny

you need to check the plug, a Turbo plug will be tapered at the element end and a non turbo will be flat dont worry about the ali plate most engines have a removable one
you will need aturbo plug for a sirio unless someone has changed the ali plate if the engine is new it should be a turbo if s/hand check with previous owner what plate and plug he ran .

Danny

I would use a rb 6 turbo , or a novarossi c6tgc turbo plug.
These are a slightly different thread to os turbo plugs

sirio turbo plugs, the newest orion turbo plugs and OS P3/P4 plugs all work very well with that brand of engine.

have never used Novarossi based plugs on Sirio based (L & M) engines so i cant say if they work well or not.

Its best to use Sirio Plugs.

TURBO BUGGY GLOW PLUG S5 S00 1720115
TURBO BUGGY GLOW PLUG S6 S00 1720116
TURBO BUGGY GLOW PLUG S7 S00 1720117

Number 6 is fine for most conditions.

Some other makes do not fit exactly same, alternatively you can use Orion as made by the same company.

ORI88854TURBO BUGGY GLOW PLUG S5
ORI88855TURBO BUGGY GLOW PLUG S6
ORI88856TURBO BUGGY GLOW PLUG S7

Normally Sponsers provide Glow plugs!!!!!
