Hello,

You will want a descent quality motor and speedo. There are loads on the market, but you shouldnt go wrong with something like a Hobby wing, which is good quality and one of the lower priced, speed passion are also very good. A lot depends on what your gonna do, race or bash? I would think starting with a 10.5 motor would be a good place to start. Also a good lipo makes all the difference.

Would perhaps be an idea to go down to your local club and ask around to see whats most popular. Maybe someone will have a motor and esc for sale also. As DC has stated already, depends on if your going to race the car or just bash about.

Thanks for the reply. I plan to race just in the winter months, I dont mind spending up to £300 on the motor and esc maybe a bit more if its really worth it.
I also need to get some tyres for indoor use, maybe carpet or wood wat would be the best to go for

Default Vortex ESC

I have a vortex R10 pro esc in my car and its awsome, £170 ish and perfect strait from the box. I can highly recommend it.

Motor wise, depends on your skills and how fast you wana go. I use a 6.5 on my SX3 and its got loads of power. No turbo ot timing changes on the motor or ESC as i like it old school style and not a lover of the turbo.

your local model shop can prob advise more as will your local club as mentioned by the others......

You can get a motor and speedo for alot less than £300 and be more than happy with the results.....

I used a 10.5 nosram and a 120a hobbywing in my 2wd at bury on sunday, was my first time racing an off road track, plenty fast enough for me for now, placed 4th in b final.
You can have a car thats too fast!
