Default Advice for 13.5t brushless. Brca legal.

I'm just getting back into touring cars and would like to update my esc and motor to brushless.
I'm looking at updating the esc to a hobbywing extreme stock on recomendation from members at the local club. I don't know however which motor to buy.

I wish it to be brca legal as may enter a championship next year and don't want to have to buy new ones all the time. Any ideas or experiance will be appreciated.

Hobbywing extream stock is a very good speedo for the money you can't touch it. One thing I will advise is to buy yourself the 4 pot power cap and put that on stright away, it improves brakes and the 2 pot that comes with the speedo tends to blow up and every1 I've seen has done this.

Motors I would look at the lrp x12 for the most performance but it dise tend to get very hot, the gm motor is fast and stays much cooler but not quite as fast. I would personally not go near Ye speedpassion motor as grtting performance out of these is very hard and Neva as fast as the other motors on the market

My personal views but from Doing 10th nationals this year that's what we found

This is the homologation list...

I think I am right in saying 13.5 will not be a national championship class for 2012, it will be 10.5 only.

Yes very tru 10.5 is the only class for touring cars in 2012 but for indoor events and possibly BTCC you'll need a brca aproved 13.5 i would guess :/

I have seen some people using the team powers motors being used with the HW speedo so yes i would agree with that one

Thanks will have a look at these. Yeah I do understand they are only running 10.5 for brca but most clubs look at those rules for 13.5 and this seems to be most popular at clubs I have looked at.

Also with the lrp. Is it running hot a massive problem if it is a quick motor. Need to improve driving though as this is where I will make most time up.

Yea lots of clubs do seem to like 13.5 which seems odd to me when 10.5 in the national class but o well

Well the LRP will run hotter than any other motor and seems to not mind, outside coming off at 90-100 is about standard but can go up to about 130 degrees C without any problems. The only thing with it gettin so hot is that the magnet gets weaker faster the hotter it gets so the rotor will get weaker faster than other types of motor but this can be allowed for in speedo setup so not a major problem.
