An 8.5 or 7.5 brushless sensored setup is ideal in a 2wd buggy.
Speed passion, LRP, Tekin, Nosram, Novak are all good brands. Hobbywing sensored is a very close match to the speed passion if your on a budget for a speedo. Orion motors also popular. I would estimate about 23 pinion 81 spur or approx. Hope this helps Mark

In my Cougar i use an lrp X12 8.5 with a 24 pinion and 80 spur. I find it gives nice smooth delivery and plenty of top end speed

Im running the spur that come with it, 23 pinion, 10 degrees mechanical on an SPV3 7.5.
Small amount of timing on the esc though, wish id just bought a 6.5 and done away with the boost. ![]() |
