Hi all,
Does anyone run 4.5t in their 4wd, or is everyone pretty much on 5.5 or slower? I've spent the winter running 5.5, and although its great a lot of the time I can enjoy myself driving sidewards just as much as I do going quickly, so I'm tempted to try even faster!! ![]() I'm aware it probably won't make me quicker over 5 mins mind, for that I need to concentrate on how I drive it, the cars fine I think! |

i ran a 4.5 novak in 4wd all last year and it never felt over powered like most people would suggest. Even on looser surfaces it was fine with a bit of thumb caution.
But it's probably not worth you moving from a 5.5 to 4.5 as like you say it probably won't make you any quicker round the track, or maybe even a second slower/lap.

A 5.5 will be more than enough, don't bother going any higher, the tops guys normally run 5.5's to win nationals! Cells do make a massive difference though, my 6.5 keeps up with others 5.5 on different cells.

All depends on how you drive though, personally i'm a throttle junkie but i generally run a 13t unless it gets really slippy and i learned to drive with the back end out, so much so i couldn't drive 27t carpet with mini pins on cos they stuck too well

I've ran a 4.5 around polished wood floors, it was insane but I dont think I would actually race it like that as your just causing yourself more work. A 5.5 on good batterys should be more power than your ever likely to really need.
