Default RB5 Vega gearbox build

Hi guys, just started building my new RB5 Sp2 (WE) Vega & noticed there's a couple of fibre washers in with the gearbox parts in the Vega kit.
Could someone please let me know where they fit or what there for?
There about the same size as a bearing if that helps.
Thanks in advance

Pete

These are there to shim the layshaft, between this axle and bearing on the slipper side if you got too mich side play.
I don't use any on mine, adding one bind the whole gearbox too much.

Thanks guys, my gearbox has build up a treat, no play & very smooth.

Did anyone have any problem with the rear wishbones binding up? Fitting the plastic suspension blocks, ( got the ally ones coming) does it need the anti squat shims putting in? If so what are people running? When I tighten the rear one it locks the wishbones up??

No shim for anti squat on mine, mount the alloy suspension blocks right from the start. The front one is a direct fit but the rear one needs some work done to sit properly flat on the chassis.

I screwed the front one and carefully remove material from the rear until it fit then install the wishbones. No binding, I even put a .1 or .2 shim to remove play, still with wishbones falling down with their own weight.

Thanks tomtom, I'm pretty sure it's the plastic block & sure it will be fine with the Ally ones. They should be here this week.
