cant you use a wireless connection Tony ?? would be cheaper possibly ??

over that distance you would need a range booster on a household wifi router or you would get a drop in speed.

I have a crimp tool & plugs, cable can be got for £13.50 - 50meters,

TLC have a branch in Oxford, Littlemore (ringroadnearcowley)
Screwfix also do stuff. (10meterpatchleadslongest+kits)

I wouldn't expect a drop until closer to 100 metres. 30 will be a doddle.

depends whats between the router and the computer though Ian... most home routers will struggle if there is a couple of walls, open air, no problem.

I may have it, our boxes have 300 metres Need to find a partly used one.
