I'm ordering 511 diff covers from Fred either today or tomorrow.
I have two DB01 gear diff units coming back with a Japanese friend of mine from Japan. He's leaving for Japan on Friday so I gave him some money and a list of Tamiya 511 parts I'm having trouble finding, including aluminum shock tower bushings, Ver. 1 body, lowered wing, and 2 gear diff units.

I'll let you guys know how the Alaste diff covers fit with the DB01 gear diffs, in fact, I think I might even do a build thread. I have alot of hop ups that are going into the 511 right out of box. It should be a fun project to do. I'll keep you guys posted. I dont expect my friend back from Japan for about 10 days so the build wont start just yet. I have a hard time finding time to build. I think I probably wont do the build until the Holidays so I can take my time with it. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I start, but dont hold your breath. It probably wont be until around Christmas that I start, so if anybody wants or can do a post about this topic before then, by all means please post your experience. Otherwise, you can wait for me to test the diff covers with the gear diff units during Christmas time.

99% of the parts anyone is likely to need are available without too much searching. Even the front hexes that nobody can allegedly find. Just need to know where to look.

Only parts that are special order are the top decks, chassis and the aluminium gearbox tops/bottoms

rcLazy.com will have the new gear diff units in stock early next week, along with 511 shells and loads of other new parts.

I'm sure our team drivers will be happy to check the diff covers fit with the new gear diffs.

Cheers

Mark
