Hi all.
After 15 years since my last RC car (Tamiya Top Force), I've purchased an RC10 B4 with no electrics off Ebay. The intention was to swap all the parts off the Top Force and start racing again. However, after a trip to the track at Kidderminster it would appear technology have passed me by a little ! So no the plan is to fit LiPo batteries and brushless motor with new speed controller (I assume I can still use my old Attack SR radio gear for the time being??). Hoping to spend around £100-£125, so can someone please offer some advice on... what motor / what battery / what charger / what speed controller. It might sound open ended but I really have no idea what I'm doing! Craig |

Check out DMS Racing as they have a sale on at the moment, also good model/web shops to consider are telstar racing, je spares, mk racing, i have used all of these & they are all excellent
For your budget i think you are going to struggle to get everything on your list, even if you buy them all second hand, check out the for sale section on here as bargains are always available, try going for the sellers who are offering to pay the paypal fees because if you buy using paypal gift you will not be able to return the item if it turns out to be not as described, most oOplers are decent people & if they are selling genuine stuff they wont mind paying the fees themselves, also insist on seeing pictures of anything you want to buy, no pics don't buy it At least you will be able to use your old radio gear ![]() As for a motor i would say a 8.5t or a 7.5t would be more than enough for a 2wd, also try & get a sensored version Esc wise there is loads of choice & is really down to individual preference & space 1 lipo should do you for starts, personally i would only buy new ones but if it's been looked after a second hand 1 will get you up & running Also if your going club racing then the chances are you will need a personal transponder as well, they come up in the for sale section for about £40-£50 Get yourself a few spares, wishbones etc & you will be good to go ![]() Oh & welcome back ![]()

Just like you found that B4!
EBAY! http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nk....c0.m270.l1311 http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...All-Categories http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?rt=...=p3286.c0.m283 or try HOBBYKING http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._10_1_12_.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._GENUINE_.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Approved_.html If you don't want to sponsor your local shop (or don't want to spend more than your 125), otherwise, ALWAYS SHOP AT YOUR LOCAL LHS. There are some real good ones out there! je spares, mkracing, apexmodels, dms, ... just to name a few! Maybe the prices aren't always as good, but the advice and service always are. (My latest top webseller is hk modellbau, but hey Germany is easier to drive to than UK if you live in Belgium like me) |

Thanks for your help guys, just what I needed.
![]() The Top Force is complete and in VERY good condition apart from the obligatory broken rear spoiler, dunno if I want to sell it though. |

Hello again, I've got the new ESC with the cooling fan fitted on top but I can't find anywhere to mount it in the car without the need to cut a hole in the shell to clear the fan, alternatively I could make a small bracket and mount it forwards off the rear shock mount? What's the norm?
