My brother in Salford said they did the shopping centre over in broad daylight and then looted and set the lidl on fire whilst it was still open. bad times.

Looks like some sort of trend now going up and down the country,i live in walkden not far from salford,been told the shopping area has been shut most of the day as too manchester city centre,bet most of these yobs actually shop in some of these shops!!! JD sports has been done over but check out what there wearing..........trackies an hoodies probs bought from there,dont understand there mentality

mentality is that there are literally no repercussions for these people only gain - why pay for a tracky when you can steal it? There's a rumour that the Arndale Centre is now affected but I'm not sure on that one

All these rioters are so poor and downtrodden they have to organise their 'demos' on Facebook (using their PC's) or via BBM (using their fancy smartphones) then cover their faces with their brand name hoodies.
And what do they want? Bling, new trainers and a massive TV to stick in their council houses.

Lots of people saying 'Ship them off to Afghanistan'. I'm inclined to agree, but not the front lines - just some seriously poor, isolated and backwards village. Show 'em what really poverty and injustice looks like.

My wife teaches at the school right by Salford precinct. She's actually recognised a couple of her students on the news. Suffice to say they are 'known to the police' already, but they've got away with stuff before and no doubt will again.
