Does anyone know where I can get the gold turnbuckles shown on Ryan Cavalieri's B44.1 at the worlds.
Link below to the picture half way down the page. http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/worlds2011/day7/ |

They are custom, you cannot purchase them. You can get them anodized yourself which will cost $$. A few years back there were a few of us that found out about a do it yourself method that required TSP (a industrial cleaning powder found at home improvement stores) and upwards of 100 volts of electricity. We wired up a bunch of 9v batteries and had the negative (i think) end in the water/TSP solution with the positive end clipped to the turnbuckle. When you dipped the turnbuckle into the solution a chemical reaction through the electricity would cause the color to change on the turnbuckle. Different voltages produced different colors. I am pretty sure gold was a fairly high amount of voltage. This is not recommended to try!

They look very like the Cat SX2 turnbuckles from Schumacher.
Might be worth a look, but cant guarantee they'll fit. Here's a link to some of them: http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/New_Ca..._SV/U3213.html |
