advice needed

right i have just gone out and brought an orion nimh battery and was just wondering if i have the right connecters can it charge of ov a ansmann quick charger it just says on bottom of battery advisable to get the orion one or is that just to make me by there products :/

The connectors shouldnt matter at all Jamie.

Its true that the better connectors you use, the less resistance and the more efficient charge/discharge you will get, but for charging NiMH even the old Tamiya style ones would be sufficient.

Just make sure the charger is pumping out the correct Amps at the correct Voltage and you wont go far wrong.

Oh, and get the connectors the right way round!
Black to black,
Red to red,
...Blue to bits

crapppppp shite its not the right amps just had a look but the out put from the charger is only 1 amp smaller than the recommended one from the battery it shouldnt matter should it it just means itl take just a while longer

Absolutely no probs if amps is smaller (infact, thats a good thing when it comes to NiMH)
As you say, it will just take longer.

Does the charger have a built in cut off when the cells are charged? (like Delta Peak, or a temperature one?)

i have the delta peak charger from ansmann and yeh it does cut off but i unplugged the battery earlyer on and the red charge light still was vacant when i pulled them apart almost like it had fried the sercuit bord but then unplugged it and left it to rest and know it working fine again :/

Im not 100% sure what you mean, but its hard to completely feck a NiMH what that charger so Im sure its ok.

Most important thing with NiMH is to discharge before charging, and the lower the discharge and charge amps the better.
