Sorry, just to go over what I have already said on other threads.

It is the slipper that is sending heat into the gearbox and making the plastic soft. Change the slipper pads to a different type and you will not have any issues.
I have tried the AE, Yokomo and the Losi and they are all fine.
With the AE and Yok you have to change the spur gear also but with the Losi one you just glue it onto the AR spur.

I am also trying different types in the X4 too but I have not yet finished so I will let you know.

Thanks
Stu

Which losi pads are you using? Xxx cr or 22? How are you glueing it? I'm thinking a small amount of contact adhesive rather than super glue.

Can the losi 22 spurs be used on the buggies as well Stu?
I've tried the AE slipper/spur combo (with the AR slipper plates) and find that the slipper plates rub on raised part that retains the slipper pads!
