Hey guys, ran my vega 201 last night indoors on carpet and polished and loved it, but there are certain areas i feel it could improve on.
On fast high-grip corners it was lifting the inside rear and spinning up, to compensate i brought the rear shock to the inner hole and dialled out some steering. This did improve it, but not enough, any suggestions? Also, how much weight is everyone running, and where? Im currently running front blues and rear yellow spring with 30/32.5 losi oil on 1.3 and 1.4 pistons. Also, what effect will moving the inner camber link position have on the rear, i know it has something to do with roll centre so maybe that needs moving. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Put a load of weight on the rear of the car. Lead putty is ideal. The car also works better with kyosho sp2 rear wishbones on the rear.

More weight in the rear? I was expecting for someone to say more in the front, or does it need a fair amount all round?
Also, what difference do the Kyosho wishbones make? And for stupid reason their supplied in pairs of 1x front and 1x rear meaning almost £14 for just 1 pair of rears. |

Try the following.
The Tamiya conversion is real good but some people got a little lost in their ways in the early days hence some comments you will hear. Not suggesting you Mr Bucks. Put 90g under your speedo - Nasty lead if you wish but 90g odd. Stagger ribs up front (old type) and normally pins on the rear. If you require more steering then another 30g odd but under the servo this time and always leave the 90g under your speedo. Putting weight under the Lipos as an addition only if indoors there are some added bumpy sections of real nasty kick ups etc otherwise no weight in the rear Lipo section. Weight is a tuning aid - remember that and you will be fine. Some people run a front brass bulkhead - I tried this only once - it just slows the reaction time down too much for me. For the wheel to be lifting it sounds soft and unforunately I cannot help with Tamiya shock setup as I just don't know. Anyways, I hope this has helped you

Thanks for your time and help Tony, much appreciated. I actually have one of your 90g weights here along with the 30g under servo but didnt run with the 90g last night. Will certainly get that back in there for the weekend.
Will play a little with the shocks too and see what happens, ill report back after the weekend. Thanks again for your input guys. |
