Default What Tyres...?

Hi,

What tyres fit the front of the RB5 Sp2 please? I bought some yellow staggered ribs and they seem far too small!?

I also have some mini spike front tyres for my B44.1 and these seem slightyly too wide for the RB5's front wheels so was hoping that someone could shed some light on what I need?

Hi,

The stagger rib are 2wd tyres, what compound have you got? You don't use inserts with the stagger ribs.

Make sure the minispike are 4wd front. Use an insert and make sure you glue them on with super glue. Again what compound are they?

The staggers are yellow (p/n U6592) and the mini spikes are also yellow (p/n U6557).

The problem I have is that the staggers are far too slim for the RB5 front wheels and the mini spikes, whilst they fit, they are wider than the mini pins that were provided with the car.

Its like the mini pins that are currently on the car appear to be an intermediate size between the slims and the 4wd fronts, but I have looked on Schumachers website and there doesnt appear to be such a size....

So Im a bit of a loss, and currently dont have a car fit for racing on Tuesday. The B44.1 I have plenty of tyres but the wheels are on back order with JE Spares. The RB5 I have front and rear wheels but no front tyres (apart from the mini pins that are on it but are shot....)

Hi Mate,

The staggers will not fit the whole of the rim just how they are design.

What you need to do is cut with pair of scissors from the inside of the wheel to the next lip if you know what I mean so the first lip cut of but cut to the second lip dremel any plastics left you find when you put the tire on will fit to that lip just glue up don't need insert's but I do run them on a set some others don't choice is yours tbh.

As for the mini spikes 4wd they are to big for the 2wd but will do the job if your urgently wanting to run the car. But Ideally you need these tires for the RB5 2wd upfront U6581 2wd Mini Spike Yellows I think the correct number

Hi mate,

Thanks for that, I don't fancy butchering a brand new set of wheels so think I will go for the different tyres. I'd probably balls them up if I tried that!

Are the slim mini spikes and mini pins wider than the slim staggered ribs then? If I was wanting to run mini pins, would it be part number U6609 or would these be too slim for the wheels like the staggered ribs are?

Slim Mini's will fit on the wide wheels fine. It might give you a load of steering though.
