its time for a new 4wd the bmax just isnt keeping up to the pace and development of the new cars ( bmax 2 is not progress) and yokomo are not the best for parts support and upgrades
so i want a new 4wd but am confused it has to be saddles have a good working slipperclutch be shaft drive not belts good product support and parts and it has to be metric i hate imperial and dont want to change all tools and spares really dont want a lazer fs2 - good car but not for me tempted by the new v3 durango but dunno if i can handle owning "captinlip edition durango " ![]() maybe the ansmann team edition but not sure on the gearboxs unless they been revised and the wild card would be the b44.1 but this means a entire new set up including screws and bearings i have seen prototype shots of the hotbodies d4x (and d2x ) prototypes and i am liking the look and sound of them . (gear diffs carbon chassis) ![]() but this looks a long way off if ever maybe losi might do a 44 ( hope its better than the 22) does any one no of any new 4wds in the pipeline other than this the bmax is trusy and reliable but getting dated and its time for a change so what do you lot think . get a new car out of the current line up or wait it out for the next big thing

Cat SX3?
502X (or 511X)? Predator? Anyway - I've upgraded to Bmax 2 spec - I've ordered the new motor mount! I might order the new rear centre driveshaft as I've lost that pin before, don't see the point for the others as never lost pins so why do I need a retaining clip? And I'll switch chassis if I ever break the current one, otherwise no need. I'm also trying to see if I can get someone to machine me some spurs in a different material. The Bmax slipper works, its just the heat melts the plastic used and makes the spur move off centre stripping it. A more heat resistant material (I'm thinking Tufnol) would solve that problem because it wouldn't melt at all.

X factory 4wd is going to be a belt so as you dont like then its out already, but the support and info will be really good when its released and also the car will be rather good out the box without mods. I am by no means a fan of shaft drive but the Durango is the way to go but would advise on getting alloy steering parts as they are a bit brittle but other than that appears to be a very well designed kit that can take some abuse and is much easier to maintain than other makes.

AE B44.1 - cheap, easy to get parts, fast everywhere, bulletproof... a winner out of the box!
![]() If bumpy + low grip > Atomized B44 (must get a used one then) Just my 5 cents, have tried a lot of cars

Aa for the laZer they are a very popular car in our area . I just don't think it would suit my rough and ready driving . I was considering one
But I thunk for the price I would still go Durango v3 As for the x7 maybe I could be won over by belt drive if the car is sound Xfactory have a good reputation and I can't see them releasing another avante style failure I like strength and Durabillity in my car . Cos I'm rough. That's why the Bmax has been and still is a good car , but I do think its trailing behind other manufacturors in a few areas Thanks for the advice any way people it's give something to think about Got three cars in mind now Durango v3 B44 .1 ( tool and spares needed but a tough good car) And the x7 has awoke some interest to Any ideas ona release date yet

Durango isn't known for durability(although it's jammed with good ideas), and annsman x4 is an OEM team C... (which is really not too bad, but avoid the nickel/chrome plated stuff... They suck super big time.) The last time some company came up with a new-fangled, bells and whistles 4wd... it flopped so hard, they had to release it twice(in 20 years)... Just so they can make a profit from the design. Can you say AVANTE? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

May I ask why the ZX5-FS2 "isn't for you"?
It's super easy to build, easy to set up, hardly needs any maintenance (so long as you change to carbide / ceramic diff balls) and handles like a dream come true! Parts support is good, yes parts aren't Ansmann prices but then you hardly even need to replace anything so does it really matter? Setup help and support is available from loads of people on here (with many different driving styles so will find somebodywho likes the car to feel like you do). I'm not having a dig at all mate, just wondering why you have decided that the FS2 isn't for you as everybody (bar 1, who to be fair didn't take much of the offer advice /experience on board) I know who has tried one has fallen in love with it on first drive. |
