Newbie In Need Of Help!

Total newbie looking for some help, please be gentle!

After watching a lad a work getting into the RC world, I thought that looks fun, and decided to give it a go.

I bought myself a second hand B4 Stealth with Savox 1258 servo and a HPI Flux Pro 5.0t Motor...

Can someone point me in the direction of a ESC that would be go well in amongst that lot please?

The motor you have is too fast for top drivers, let alone for a newbie, if your radio has the option of end point adjustment (epa) it will need to be turned down as it will be a bit quick

As for esc, I would advice a secondhand one, there are many good esc's available, you can usually pick up a Novak GTB, Lrp / Nosram for about £50-£60 which are very good esc's - just take a look in the forsale section

Speedpassion's are also very good escs and one can be found here for a good price, and I can vouch for the seller

I agree, the 5T will pull your hair off in a B4, most of us will only run 5.5T in 4WD buggy, and that can be very quick with the correct gearing and battery. Good comment about your EPA adjustment, trim it down low on your throttle and it will save the wheelies and bald back tyres until you get the hang of it

ESC is best approached by investing in a good quality second hand one from a trusted oopler, as suggested check out the for sale section, people are generally very helpful so don't be scared to ask about spec you don't understand

Most importantly, charge your battery and go have fun, its an amazing hobby...you won't regret it

Wasn't sure on the motor, thought it would be a bit much! So if I put that at the back of the draw for a while and try and get something around the 8 - 10t mark? Would that save a few quid on tyres while getting to grips?

Again, thanks for the help! Trying not to rush in and buy stuff thats no good, so all pointers welcomed!

Try an 8.5turn mate, this will be a good start as it will still be quick enough, but not to quick for a beginner

Are you going to racing? or just bashing?

Will hopefully be going racing, think it would be a shame not to at least give it a try anyways!

Didn't want to spend too much straight off just in case, but i can't see myself not liking this - although the girlfriend might not be as keen!

I'll keep my eyes pealed for a 8.5t and i've dropped Wraggy a note about the ESC (thanks again!)

Im fairly new to racing and been having a few problems with too much wheelspin causing the buggy to spin out especially indoor on polished floors but even on astro at RHR, im running a 9.5t lrp eraser motor and dont know how to gear it properly, Ive tried turning the EPA down which helps with low speed cornering/handling but lose out on speed on the straights.

Any ideas on how to calm it down without losing speed
