Anyone else got a Blizzard??

Hi guys,

Relative newbie here, I have built a stock Blizzard to run at my local road track, on road tyres.

I will admit my driving is not the best at the moment but so far, in the 3 months i have run it I have snapped 4 front cvd joints. They appear to be like Rocking horse poo and very difficult to get hold of. I am currently running X4 shafts that Ansmann assure me are identical apart from being made from different material.

I can assure Ansmann they are not identical having less thread for the wheel nuts to go onto, but otherwise seem to be ok. Using wheelnuts from a Master smacker appears to have solved the issue of wheels coming off!

Does anyone else have issues with Blizzard drive shafts??

Ive got an X4 pro and yes the threaded part is quite short but still long enough to get your wheels locking in place using nylocs.
I know this wont help now but when i was looking at getting an RC car i looked initially at the blizzard and almost went and got one until i read a few reviews. I then waited till i found an X4 pro second hand and got it. Threaded shocks, slipper clutch

Due to the lack of replies, I guess I got my answer.... I know the X4 is very similar, but as an entry level 4wd I bought the Blizzard kit but to be honest even with my poor driving skills it seems very fragile.

the parts between the x4pro and the blizzard are the same (the plastic parts etc) but as with any novice driver its the hitting of objects thats the problem.

I use an x4pro and i think its great until i hit something or land at a funny angle and then its the shock shafts or hinge pin that break cos they are too strong.

Dave I know thats the problem! The track at my club is very unforgiving, being tarmac, with concrete barriers in places.

The problem is I need experience at driving, but to gain experience I suffer breakages
stopping the buggy running!

I'm getting there I promise, but it's costing quite a bit in spares, when I can get them! I was going to buy another kit just for the spares, but they are out of stock at most places at the moment!

X4 pro front cvd are not exempt from breking. Took mine down for a practice meet last night. I lasted 2 laps and my car had snapped a front cvd after a very minor incident. Ordered a set up but thats another £34 down the swanny. This is though my first car related failure, the other failures ive had have been transmitter and reciever and the esc where it was overheating and stopping the car. Found that to be no contact from the transistors to the heat sink. Oh the fun
