has the hpi saturn got an internal fan?and are you running a heat sink?maybe worth buying a good heat sink to distribute the heat from the motor.
these motors arnt ment to be used with such high currents hence why they melt so need more care to keep them cool.

I`m running 40c Lipo and have an old XX4 Heatsink bolted on the end of the motor and a heatsink accross the top of the motor.
Motor went on me after 3 laps. Seized solid Not really enough time to get hot !!! |

was that the 1st time you had used it?old damage to the motor from previous use can come loose and seize it in just 3 laps if plastic melts or with the heat metal parts move out of place and the next time you use it a slight knock can move them and end result is whats happened!

Brand New out of the packet.
And yes it is the one with the fan. I think each of the problems were probably caused from the fan coming loose. |

I was always under the assumption that you shouldn't really use any lipo over 20 or 25 c with closed endbell brushed motors (Or any brushed for that matter). I just bought some ultra cheap 5000 20c lipo of ebay and have been running G2's on them with no ill effects.

Looks like the problem is likely to be the lipos then.
To be honest we have only just started running this class, been running Brushless and Lipos previously. Cheapy Lipos here we come. |

could try turning your esc down so its not throwing too much juice at the motor!
