Does anyone know if this will work? I know the 416 diffs are way to wide but the TA05 one looks much narrower and doesn't look to take driveshaft blades

I'm not sure.
I just have two spare diff's and swap them over as and when I need to. |

They do fit even though they're a bit narrower than the 511 diffs. They take blades however, but there's a guy here who's supposed to explain how he used ZX5 RTR wheel axles to make outdrives that wouldn't take blades. Still waiting on that though...

One of the guys i was racing with last week had these in his TRF511. I don't know what difference they made but he was really happy with it and his car looked good out on the track. Just need to see if there'll ever be a version for the TRF502. His name's Donutt and he's in the tamiya forums a lot.
Hope this helps Scotty....

The spec r did has been out for some time for the 501/511. The new ta05v2 gear diff from tamiya should also fit assuming it's the same. I am stripping my 501x down this week so will check the STD ta05 dif fits.

lol Thanks Scotty! I wasn't quite ready to open Pandora's box yet...
Too early/too little testing, but I'll post once I've got something concrete. I've fitted it with shims to take up slack, 1000wt oil and standard 3mm blades. |
