Aftenoon guys
![]() Just a quickie on acetone.... Now it's going to be the first time I will have used this stuff, only question I've got - Do you fully submerse the rim & tyre or just pour a small amount in a sealable tub and drop the rims in? Any other pointers on this would be appreciated ![]() Cheers, Mike P. |

I usually cut off the tyre, pull out the insert and then just submerge the wheel. Couple of days and done.

Try not to use too much, its the fumes that do most of the work, you only need half inch or so in a sealed tub for it work properly, like IanH says cut off the tire and pull out the insert and submerge in the tub for a couple of days and maybe even turn the wheels over in that time, using the stuff you can get from a guy on here it does it in even less time than most acetone I have used over the past, very good stuff, well worth the money, saves you loads on wheels over the years.

I just put the whole wheel in, insert, tyre and all. It all comes off no problem, rinse the inserts in water and they are good to use again.
It's all part of being Rc lazy hehe |

I sit my whole wheel, tyre and inserts on a mesh platform above the acetone.
the fumes do the de-gluing,. |
