Yes, agreed, they are very different to the staggered rib, so wide rim with an insert.
I like quite a firm insert in them, or even a 4wd insert like a tubby in them to fill them up, or the middle tends to collapse a little. |

Just picked up a set of these to try this weekend back to back v the older style ones...
Whats the difference in using a wider wheel v a skinny wheel, I have always used skinny wheels in 2wd so am interested to know before i glue them up Any help appreciated ![]()

The skinny wheels are the very old style wheels that were used on the Losi XX and models of that generation...
Models since the B4, have used a wider wheel, which is now standard width in 2wd. This is due to the popularity of wide ribs in the ol USA. I would use a std width b4 wheel with inserts IMO. I know Sleigh said he ran 4wd front inserts in his!! Hope this helps Lee. ![]()

Cheers Mark
Do wider wheels give better steering v the skinny type or do most use the wider wheels purely because stretching a 2wd tyre over the wide wheels flattens the tyre out giving less spike profile to the side and therefore less chance of grip roll on new tyres ?
