Default Kyosho springs ...... we need to know!!

I have already had enough of not knowing what the rates of the Kyosho springs are ...................

What I am wondering is if people would be as kind as to lend me some springs so I can measure their rate on our specialist spring testers at work.

The idea is simple ..... people send me springs, I measure them and return them and produce a chart listing them compared to AE and Losi springs so we all know where we are.

Anybody up for helping me by sending some springs over PM me.

those arent spring rates those are just numbers.

this is the magic spring chart and it has actual rates. it seems to be missing the stiffer then silver front springs.

Mr X. That is the second time today that I have seen that chart .... thank you for posting it here!!!!

There are a couple of those ratings that I'd very much like to check out for myself as they are not quite in keeping with the "feel" of the springs. Hopefully we'll be able to fill in the gaps with my study!!

Jonathan, the numbers you give are the Kyosho identification numbers, not actual rates ...... all they really do is order the springs. They work as a guide to which spring in the Kyosho range to choose in relation to the one your currently using.

The chart Mr X has posted is in lb/inch rating so they can be compared with other manufactures springs.

Here is something (I didnt make it)
Piston conversions:
LOSI: AE: KYOSHO:

#54 = .055"
#55 = .052"----- #1 = .052"----- 2B = .051"
#56 = .0465"---- #2 = .0465"---- 2C = .047"
#57 = .043"----- #3 = .043" -----3A = .043"
#60 = .04"-----------------------3B = .039"

Just remember the "3" kyosho pistons have 3 holes not 2 ...... That means the damping effects will be different.

If I get some time I will do some calculations and post up the results .... but don't hold your breath!!

I'm new into the RB5, bought one second hand.
I 'm planning on buying some spares just in case and add maybe some tuning-material.
Actually I have the lime yellow/greenish springs in the front and blue-purple on the rear.
Could someone tell me what springs I might need in my spare box?
Or are the ones that I have pretty common.

I've looked through some setup-sheets and encountered these allready
front: Silver (70), orange (?), lime yellow(75), lime green (?)..
rear: Blue (68), mauve (72?) , silver (?), ...

Which of these should I buy?

Sorry guys, just a quick one, are some of you running Losi springs on the FS and if so, what are you having to do to get them on there, i have all the losi spring selection so if i can run them i'd rather use them until i start replacing, also do losi pistons work in the shocks at all?

Just run the losi bottom spring cups thats all you need to do to run losi springs, although on the front the greens and the blues are too long. No the pistons do not fit.
