XBOX 360 HELP

Not sure if anyone can help me but im having problems with my 360
Especially when trying to load a game..
When I put the disk in it start to spin up and then I get a white screen with the words” you need to insert disk into Xbox” (I think) and several other languages below it.
When I go into the dashboard screen it seems to think the game is a DVD.

After several attempts at starting it will work eventually but im getting tired of having to do it a bout 10 times before the game loads up.

sounds like the lens is on its way out. tried a lens cleaner?

not yet but is there one specific for the XBOX or will andy sic cleaner be ok ???

Wraggy, sounds exectly like what happened to mine ...... although as it's mod'd it still plays the back-ups (I wanted the mod so that I didn't get anymore discs damaged by the machine after loosing my second game disc!!!).

Been told it is the drive controller somehow not getting the special code to say it's a genuine title ..... I'm not 100% sure it's something that can be fixed but I did look at a new drive but that was going to cost about £80.

Ive had this problem with my 360 aswell. What i did is bought a disk cleaning kit from pound land amazingly it was a pound. And it seems to work a treat. Hope this helps
