Hi
Was not sure where was best to post this. But I am currenlty building a rc car as a University project. My job is to design and build a movable rear wing. I have been doing some research into it and can not seem to find any equations for calculating the size of wing needed or the angles needed. It is a 1/8th size with a nitro engine and 1/10th TC wheels and tyres. I was planning on running a bar from the brake/throttle servo to the wing to change the angle but if u can think of another way this would also be useful. Thanks in advance. James

there is a book on aerodynamics ..
this is it..... very good if you can get it... Competition Car Aerodynamics: A Practical Handbook, Simon McBeath, itll give you some good pointers anyway...i wish id have done my uni project on buggys rather than wasting loads of time on full cars with too many people pulling in different directions.. there is another book about vehicle suspension and the coefficient of friction...but a cant think what its called right now... ...

![]() I studied 1/10th TC bodies as part of my degree. Remember you can't scale down air. Just be wary of that with whatever you design.
