I am rather new in RC. I run a B4 and also a TA05 in touring competition but I think Off-road gives me more pleasure. Also around here, the offroad-comps are always in a very friendly atmosphere, but my TA05 suffers from all the bashings it gest from faster guys passing my slower car and who don't feel the need to do this in a clean way.
That is why I was considering to mount my X10 Pred and compeed it in our local indoor onroad-comps, but then in the Off-road-category. Now, I have almost everything i need, except for a ESC. And since brushless is looking around the future-corner, i was thinking about ... ... buying a cheaper ESC and run it with the 13x2 motor that I have left. (I might also have an old 9x1 somewhere around) ... or buying a more expensive Brushless-brushed ESC which i can use for both. I guess, if buying a brushless type, it is important that one can adjust it, that it has multiple settings? What would you guys advice me? My preference goes for option 2, since with option 1 I will end up with a esc I can not use in future. Price is important, but I am willing to do some effords, as investment for later on. thanks in advance for all advice |

Theres only really 2 brushless ESC's to go for, the Novak GTB and the LRP Sphere (same as Nosram matrix evo), both are good in there own right, people seem to believe that the Novak is the more reliable one but i have only ever ran the Novak so i cant comment on that. Both of them are in actual fact really good, there seems to be an equal number of them about and they are both adjustable to what you want, the LRP more so. Its your choice really, the Novak is cheaper, the LRP seems to have more performance, up to you.

i agree i run both novak and a nosram/lrp reason i said nosram is its slightly smaller and it will fit in a x10 better than a novak and i no this as i use to run pred

i would advise the novak brushless system purely because of the reliability. Also the novak motors seem to be a lot more reliable than the lrp/nosram motors. The novak brushless system is cheaper than the lrp/nosram.
