Default Transporting batteries on a plane

I'm not sure if this is a silly question but does anyone know if it's safe to take cells in the un-pressurised cargo hold of a plane?

I wanted to take my cells as carry-on for the JC clash in the states but after reading up on what you can and can't take it's looking like they will have to go in the case, will they go pop?

Cells are shipped regually in this way, no issue.

Just make sure they are well insulated for transport and never ship batteries fully charged.

You could strap them to your chest! Just get ready for that rubber glove.
Would it work out a good idea price wise to get cells over there?

Mine were packed in my main hauler bag, which went in the hold of the plane for Finland, and they were fine.

Have you even tried sarnies wrapped in foil straped to your chest with duck tape, now that hurts your ass!! and a fine to boot!!
On a sensible note, if you order cells from the u.s/hk, don't they just get shipped via cargo the same way??

No Andy, not quite ....... if you pay the duty and VAT then you can miss the rubber glove phase out altogether ........

You just have to decide which will hurt less.....

Everything inside a plane is pressurised. It would make no sense (too hard to do technically) to keep the passenger cabin only under pressure.
The pressure is less than on sea level though, more like 1000-1500 meters, and temperatures can be much lower.
