Default yokomo racer

when will we see a real raceworthy car from yokomo again? The b-max does not cut it for me. I need carbon and alu, preferably belts too. what do you think? cheers Tony.

Currently the only belt drive racer in common production is the Cat. Despite the success of the 511, Tamiya have moved to shaft drive. Belts are basically out of fashion in offroad.

As for the carbon and alloy bit - here I am interested to see what the Ansmann X4-TE is like. The basic X4 is heavily based on the Bmax, but the TE swaps the moulded tub for flat carbon.

bmax not a raceworthy car??

are you serious?

cars do not need to have carbon and alu to make them race worthy. If anything the carbon/alu stiffens the chassis up, which in some examples is a disadvantage.

have a look at the kyosho zx5 FS, its in pretty much in the same boat, and look how well it does in the hands of tebo. Have a look at matsukura with the bmax, amezcua with the TQ car(bmax copy). Carbon is overated. Most 2wd cars were of carbon plate chassis, but are now nearly all plastic/composite for a reason, flex.....

Bye then!

A Bmax is not an entry level chassis, its a national championship winning chassis, so good that they dropped the 'premium' BX 'cos this was better.

Enjoy your 511, I let my Bmax chat on the track.

..the B-Max being the car that beat everyone including the TRF501, Cat SX and B44 at the 2008 Euros after Neil Cragg found he went faster with the B-Max on his first try with it than with his well tested BX Worlds. If the B-Max is an entry level car what does that say about the others.
