Default bodies in post

hi guys no pics but a question to those who post shells in post or courier.
i had a guy from australia telling me that he has had shells posted to him for £4. im in uk and spent hours getting prices the cheapest being £29.70. i thought that was reasonable considering its going across the world, but clearly not. it usually costs £4-5 1st class recorded to get shells moved about in uk

please leave your ideas,

What shell/s?

single shell in a jiffy bag, yeh, probably. deffinately not recommended for painted shells.

did he say where from? perhaps he had them posted from the US..

Agree with Jon, once they are painted though, they need to be expedited, and that just costs!

i think he got them from uk , shells are painted , as you know once put in correct size container, which isnt all that big or heavy , best price i got was from a friend who runs his own courier, he tells me to find out who did it £4 and he will use them and retire, lol, this is a one off as i had no intention of sending shells but because i was involved in trying to find a courier i couldnt find ANYone to do it for under £30 (dhl) so if anyone has names of firms that can beat this please post , this will be most helpful in future. its fair to say i wouldnt pay £30 for postage for 2 shells painted or not!

He's pulling your leg, you will strugle to send an A4 envelope to Aus for £4, I sent a kyosho MP9 out there last year, £75 surface, 6 weeks plus to get there with no tracking, with tracking would be £120ish airmail, but the chap wouldn't pay that much....it took over two months to get there in the end

shouldn't be anymore than about £9 for a couple of shells standard airmail.

reason i asked what they were is it is affected by size and weight.

http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/c...iaId=118600858

once over 2kg it goes way up. also, once over the size limitation it goes way up. which is a combined measurement of 90cm(l+w+h)
