Hi Guys
Had plenty of advice from various people on which car to buy for my first car (not raced for around 14 - 15 years, cat2000 and yokomo dogifghter) a fair few people have backed the Yokomo B-MAX 4 to get started at club racing again Yokomo do different versions which im guessing have upgraded components etc, my question is this, is the standard car for £189 good enough to get me back into the sport or is it worth spending the extra £££ on the better packages knowing further dow the line im likely to upgrade anyway? Thingas have changed muchly since i used to race so i dont know much about the new cars B-MAX 4 competition off road buggy £189 -09 edition - £329.95 Champions edition - £234 Factory edition - £385 any help appreciated Regards D |

I was the same as you recently just back into racing after a 15 year gap and the Yokomo B-MAX 4 was also suggested to me. I went for the Factory for the fact that I knew if I bought the basic one I would still want all the upgrades eventualy and end up spending more than just buying the factory version instead.
I love the car it is very strong and spares are easy to come by. So if you have the cash now then get the factory however if you only have enough for the basic I am sure it will be ok to start of with. Good luck |

I race in Watford Herts and yes it takes a long time to get used to it again. Been back into it since NOV/DEC 10 and still finding my feet. but enjoying it and thats the main thing

I've got both a base car and a full on Factory team. There is no doubt the Team car is better but the base car isn't far behind for a lot less money.
On top of the £189 you will need to add the anti-roll bar kit (a must for all BMaxes) which is found in the other kits. The stock plastic shocks aren't great either, so all in all I reckon the Champ pack version at £234 is worth the difference as it also adds better turnbuckles too. After that, the big bores on the FT are awesome, but the rest is really just extra money for blue alloy bling Whatever you go for, the Bmax is a great beginner car as its tough, stable and quick.
