Default Leaky Cougar Shocks??

Anyone have a problem with the shocks leaking on the Cougar? A few guys have bought them at our local track and we are all having the same problem. Is there a fix?

Never had a problem to be honest but I have always used associated o rings as I heard the kit ones weren't great.

I've never had any trouble with my son’s shocks on his cougar although I did notice some white powdery stuff inside were the seals fit. I gave them a good clean with a tissue dampened with shock oil. I would strip them and clean out were the seals fit and try again.
Hope this helps.

Maybe I should try the AE rings. Thanks.
Its also worth noting the car is Brand New and I run indoors on carpet.

did you build it from kit?
i fitted the supplied blue O-rings to mine, no more leaks
shock rebuild pack has the option of blue's if you havent got them

ae orings are to tight and will make them stiff in no time at all, they may feel ok at first but as soon as the oil swells the seals they will pinch the shafts, use the blue ones that come in the rebuild kits and make sure there are no burs on the plastic parts before you build them, make sure you soak all the new parts in shock oil before use,

Yes his vehicle was from a kit. So was mine... From new. He paid for his to be built... and I built my own.
Chris had the problem where the purple bottom cap (by the shock shaft) came undone.

Mine leaked, so I took the purple collar off and found some traces of carpet had managed to get into the seals.

Once this was removed they were fine, worth a check!
