Default Macnum and Xirius Race 3900 brushless pinions

I've just bought the Ansmann brushless combo and haven't even considered which pinion to use, any advice?

depends if you want speed or acceleration. Personally 23T pinion is a good starting point

Top speed isn't necessary, good acceleration is the goal.

Well the combo turned up yesterday courtesy of Modelsport and straight away I was impressed with the packaging, nice foam insert with all the parts nicely laid out. Now as far as I know this is included in the Madrat RTR (?) but the controller doesn't fit into the chassis so for now it has to go on top of the battery retainer. The biggest gripe thought is the lack of set-up instructions, it comes with a program card but doesn't tell me how to use it, it doesn't tell me how to wire the motor correctly, the little cooling fan runs constantly and also what it does say in the small manual doesn't tie-up with what the controller does when I switch it on. It does work and brakes OK but I don't know if it is set-up at it's best, I'll pop and see Dave at TOP tomorrow to make sure it's all OK.

Your pics arent showing. Never had a macnum myself but there should be plenty of space to fit the esc. Try to post em again.

I tried again and there is about 0.5mm in it but I can just squeeze it in:

It is an interference fit, the capacitor lead is in the wrong place! I'm beginning to think this isn't the one that comes with the RTR.
