You could go for Ansmann alloy shocks or Associated b4 alloy shocks. I use Losi xxx-cr shocks on mine (need to use the losi mount bushings though)

Add Tamiya TRF buggy shocks to the list - I was fortunate to get some here on Oople, but can be had on eBay for under £50.
Associated ones should be readily available for around £25 used (or new for a little bit more), best upgrade for those are the bleed caps at an extra £5 or £6. As the biggest issue with the Madrat shocks are the tops popping off, you could try to find alloy shock bodies and alternative caps - not sure what will fit, though - perhaps changing pistons to match the shock body would be enough?

Thanks fro the quick response.
Just to clarify, the rears are 95mm between each mounting point and 75mm for the front? (measured it roughly with a compass on the car0 Modelsport have got the ali ones but come in 95 85 and 75mm so need to make sure i got the right sizes before I order. These are the ones. Would you call these an upgrade? They dont have front (75mm) in stock though. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=28324 I have seen these on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=p5197.c0.m619 Any good and will they fit? Those Ansmann shocks are not the X Pro ones - they pre-date that car, and are not of the same standard. Unknown brand shocks off ebay are a pure lottery - probably a waste of money.

I'd not go for the ansmann alloy ones you show..they leak, I got a set to try them as they were so cheap...but they really are 'cheap'.
I'm running Traxxas Bandit alloy, teflon coated shocks atm, set of 4 for £54..very tough and smooth running shocks, not threaded. J |
