Default new carisma gt14b

I am currently running a rc18t at my local club I am having fun with it but it does not meet my needs ie its not stable enough and is just to small for my liking.

Over the past few years I have ran 1/10th tourers but they have died out at my local club. They either use micro buggies or mardaves (which i do not like at all). I bought the rc18t thinking i would enjoy racing it but it really does not suit my driving style. I had a go of one of the lads lrp sharks and I just loved it, it had a lot more stability and felt a lot more solid ect.

Now i was thinking of getting the new carisma gt14b but there are 2 things that are putting me off. 1 is the radio gear you get with it. Yes I really do need to upgrade to a 2.4g handset but a steering wheel. I have used stick controls for the past 18 years and a steering wheel transmitter, well it, it feels just so wrong. Just the option of having a stck tranny would of been nice.

2. the saddle packs. I know it comes with a nimh battery but no one uses nimh,s any more really. So I have been searching the internet for weeks to find a decent lipo pack that fits the car but i have come up with nothing that fits the car for under £35. No I am no longer a serious racer and I love just to go to a club for the crack. But i would love to be able to buy a budget lipo pack for this car. Something that i am used to paying, £20 for instance. I know i should be patiant and wait a few months for some more battery packs to come out but I WANT THE CARISMA NOW.

Any way rant over LOL

In response to your questions..

1] For £40 you can get yourself a 2.4ghz stick system from Etronix (http://www.etronix-rc.com/etronix-pu...dio-system.php) which is more than enough to use with the 14B. Then stick your pistol transmittor and reciever onto eBay and get some money back

2]If, by your own admission, you are a happy club racer then why not just stick with the NiMh's? Infact why not put a "wanted" ad on the forums for the other 14B drivers NiMh packs and get them off of them for silly cheap money!
If you are racing at a local club for giggles then NiMhs are more than adequate for your needs, and could provide a very cheap battery solution to you.

Default carisma

I will probably take your advice and stick the radio gear that you get with it on the bay. It would of been nice to have the option of having the stick transmitter with it tho.

I am not really a nimh person any more as they require a lot more looking after (discharging cycling ect wise) I dont own any nimhs any more. I even use lipos in my car park basher cars. I will more than likely get the car within the next few days and test it at my local club with tthe nimh pack untill some cheaper lipo saddle packs become available.

Cheers daz

Sorry havnt been online in a while.

Im running two of these soldered in parallel http://www.overlander.co.uk/extreme-...-7-4v-40c.html

You have to take the rear battery post out and velcro them in, but they work a treat.
