The force is not strong with the vintage what you need is a new young jedi to run along side you and lap you. My apprentice "Obi won Jemison" will take care of that with his 540 powered CR!

Hey, Ben is actually rather quick with his 540 powered CR, it'd be a great contest!

Would it be a race of turtle vs the tortoise? the hares are in the other heats!

Default vintage dates

I will be at some of the dates , cannot do the 3rd Nov though, no chance of york and teesside in a weekend. RC overload on my grey matter. Procat and rc10 or kyosho thing if I can find a topdeck for it.

Default What to Run?

Would it be sacrilege to run a mint condition Gold Tub RC10 ?

Haven't raced for donkeys years but this sounds fun.

Nah that's fine, Jimmy's graphite was a bit of a minter when he ran it. My RC10's a pretty good one too, which is good as it means it doesn't fall apart on every other corner ;-)

Last year John ran Jimmy's Javelin, he just put a slow motor in and drove steadily, making sure he didn't do anything daft. If you want to have a go but don't want to badger the car just do the same. There will not be any large jumps, just small stuff.

If there is enough entries for a second heat we'll put all the 'slower' cars together.

Cheers lads
Still not sure though, i did a bit of research and my rc10 seems to be a CE edition with the black parts and stealth tranny which possible puts it outside the 1990 cut-off, depending how bendy the rule is?
i also have an old graphite mid but that's not turned a wheel since 1988 when i raced it at a club in Oldham. She really needs some work as my pit skills were a little bodge-worthy back then.
At worst i think ill pop up and have a ganders.

The RC10 will be fine, we're not ultra strict on the cutoff.

Get yourself down and race!

Default IMPORTANT RULES

We had a York committee meeting tonight and they really wanted to keep the 'spirit' of vintage racing as true as possible so they have decided on the following rules:

Motors: 540 sealed can - same rules as thier 540 series, which basically means that the 20 turn HPI stinger (that was run last year) is the fastest motor that we can run.

Chassis: Age limit of 1990 (ish).

Tyres: No minipins - feel free to use up all your old half worn yellow mini's from througout the year.
