Default Box art Sand Scorcher alloy wheels

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a new Tamiya Sand Scorcher as a 'shelf Queen'

Takes me back to 1980 when my dad bought one second hand. I used to run the battery down for him before he got home from work after he had charged it for 16 hours !! Ha Ha

Anyway, back to the question.

Where can I buy the box art Sand Scorcher alloy wheels, if you even can ?

I've found some on Ebay, but they are not quite right with all the nuts on the outer rim.

Thanks.

Rob.

I'm not sure what you are looking for actually exists. The box art is after all a drawing rather than a real-life image. You could maybe get the kit 5-spoke wheels chrome plated I guess, I'm sure I've seen that done before with people gold-plating the wheels on Hotshots to make them look like the original box-art car (as the kit came with white wheels as standard).

I've just fitted these wheel covers to mine.
They comprise of just the outer part of the wheel that's alloy and I've painted the middle and inner parts black as per box art.

OH MY GOD !!!!!
That is one stunning looking car !!

I absolutely LOVE the exhaust and the discolouration !! I must have one just like it

I was looking for full alloy wheels to the same style as the box art, but the wheel covers you have (I have seen them on Ebay) look great on the car.

Many thanks
Rob.

Rich D

FANTASTIC !

That is exactly how I want mine, it looks stunning !

The wheels listed above from Ebay are what I've seen, but they are wrong with all the bolts on the outside. I thought I saw some wheels being sold on Ebay that looked just like the box art ones but made from alloy. The chroming idea would be OK for me I think, but where can I get plastic chromed? The covers look very good as well.

So we now have a new question, wher do you get one of those beautiful exhausts ??? I must have one

Thank you

Rob.
