Hi,
Is this normal as I'm having this issue with my SX, what's the best way of setting the ESC, introducing drag brake? This is in a Cat SX with a 6.5 and SP GT, never got hot when I first had the SX with LRP Sphere and Losi motor. |

If you dial a lot of drag brake in to the ESC, it generates heat. As long as you are not overheating the motor and ESC to the point of losing performance (or failure), it's not a problem.
Drag brake is a personal thing. Lots of drag brake may feel confidence-inspiring on the track, but it probably isn't the fastest way around if you are shedding too much speed in the corners. |

Got drag brake set to 0 at the mo, but I use the brakes quite a bit and it's hot.
Don't need to it for confidence, just trying to solve heat issues Even to the point of changing ESC at the mo |

Air flow plays a massive part, if you think your gearing is OK. Have you cut the back section out of the shell? As long as your arn't thermalling or unsoldering are you sure it's getting that hot?

Mikey your not overlooking that your car maybe binding in the drive system somewhere ? I had this in my SX, but it could happen in any car.
