Those mini-stocks were the epitome of indestructable brilliance weren't they?! I'm not sure if they're still raced these days but I did try my hand at one of Ardent Racing's loaner Mardave V12s a few weekends ago and was immediately hooked again!

I ended up buying one myself and although it's still the classic Mardave racing-on-a-budget style, it's a considerably better car. I even recognise some of the parts in the V12 kit that haven't changed from the old mini stock kit!

Ardent runs a dedicated Mardave/Mini class and in my opinion that's the ideal introduction for the younger drivers. You're much better off learning to handle a car consistently around a track before moving onto a 10.5T brushless monster that bounces its way around the barriers!

No opinion on which is better though - this was my first race in about 20 years too...

Default mardaves v mini

in my personal opinion i would say the mardave as for the price of the mini you could get a mardave with some spares and away you go dosnt really mean its better tho and you know the mardave is going to cost less to repair than the mini in the event of breaking somthing
(very rare on the v12) i must ad but ultimatly its up to you.

What's the format of the racing on Saturdays? Is it banger/stock car or regular non-contact? High Wycombe is less than an hour away for me so I could be tempted to drop in one weekend!
