Default B4.1 Brushless - First Car

Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow I am buying my girlfriends 8 year old son a Team Associated B4.1 Brushless RC10 and I'm looking forward to having a go myself
Looking to get him into racing and visiting the track at Bury after some practice.
Also looking at Orion advantage IQ 605 charger and an Ansmann Racing 7.4v 5000mAh Li-Po battery pack.
I have been told by Ben at Bolton Model Mart that this is a great set up for a beginner.
What are your views on this car and set up for an RC Virgin?

Cheers,

B4 is a great car to hone your skills with. Very strong and lots of spares available. Before you get out on track, I would just get it checked over by a local expert, just so they can give it the once over. This should help you enjoy the car more.

Happy racing!

There might be a couple of guys down at the Bury track at about 7 tomorrow night if you want to come for a blast around. Just check the Bury metro forum before hand just to make sure because of the rain and all that.

Cheers lads. Buying it tomorrow but he is only getting the car on the 20th for his birthday so wont be at the track tomorrow but looking forward to checking it out soon.
I will keep an eye on the website for practice days.
Are there any other tracks in the area and are there any indoor tracks for when the british summer takes a turn for the worse?

Cheers,
GFoz

I think it's a great setup and hopefully other than some tyres and maybe springs there's nothing else needed.

We have a couple of these running at our club and they are very good, as mentioned above springs and tyres are all that's needed at least for our track anyway, blue and silver springs and minispikes tyres.

Why would the springs that come with it not be suitable?
What do the different colours refer to when it comes to springs?
Do you need to change the tyres for each race?
