the white gear inside the gearbox is off. I filed the gear gently to mesh better and moved the gearbox halfes against each other until it was smooth.

Where did you file, what did you file. There is A LOT of play in that gear, I think that Idler Shaft is off. And not correct. and it is locking the gears and making the diff lock. That is what I think the issue is.

I don't know for sure if its the shaft, but I am sure shumacher will find the problem and send a fix. Don't forget that these are the first models, they are bound to have a couple of problems.

What I did is disasembled the transmision until I was left with the two tranny halfes and purple motor mount together. I then turned the gear by hand until I got to the binding part. with a sharpy marker I marked all the teeth that are binding. You then have to take apart the tranny and get to the gear. I used a very fine half moon file one the inside of each marked tooth. I also passed the file over the outside of the affected area. I had to repeat this 4-5 times to get it right....be careful and file only two or three swipes at a time or you might remove to much material.

If your hooking left its because of the some problem with the diff. Take it apart start new by cleaning all the grease with degreaser. Make sure that the molly grease is only in the thrust bearing beacause if it gets anywhere else your diff won't work.

Could it be that i have a later kit than yours?

Mine has the smoothiest gearbox I've had the last years.
