Default Race chat forum problems

Sorry to talk about the other forum but i found i cant post any more or reply to any threads.

Seems unless you are a paid member you can only look and post on a few non popular threads.

How does that help our hobby??

I've been a member on the other forum for about 8 years and have just discovered the same thing. Can't reply to any posts, or start a new topic.

Did I miss a vital announcement from the moderator revoking the ability to make a forum actually work like a forum?

Oh well, another nail in the coffin for my TC racing, sigh...

Still amazed how much more fun off road is, fellow racers, forums and actual racing all included. (Even set up sometimes )

Mark, I think what people are pissed off about, is that over the years, Racechat has gone from being a free and thriving forum to one that has been soooo moderated and costly, people just don't understand why... it isn't like thay gained anything from it.

racechat has allways had paid up members....... and its moderated to the rules which have been pretty standard from day one

as i said some just dont like rules but if i said i dont agree with the speed limits and drove past a school as 60mph which was a 30 limit every one on here would moan about me and say i should be banned!!

Mark, that is the BIGGEST load of bollocks so far......

When Racechat started, membership was free, you had a PM box and a sig line, but you could 'donate' to the site.
Then they reduced you down to 10 pm's and membership was a nominal fee, this gave you 100 pm's
Then you had to be a member to have a sig line
Then you couldn't advertise in a sig line

The rules just kept coming in, so for those who have been there for a long time have seen it go from a thriving FREE forum to a stifled, over moderated PPV forum.

Yes, you agree to join, and you agree to follow the rules, but for those who been there years, just see it as petty and futile in the most.

maybe had you not pissed on so many people's legs, like you do here, you wouldn't have had such issues or complaints

Not true, it used to be free. I was banned (lifetime ban, oh yeah!) because I voiced my opinion when Fitz introduced paying members...

because they approach everything with a "I want it my way" attitude, and then want to piss and moan about it later

BTW,

Can we please keep this thread constructive please?

race chat was the first forum i joined.

As i am in the business i am in a good posiotion to share information and solutions to peoples questions. Not just about Kyosho.

I used to like the 1/8th section until a certain mod started acting like a oracle except he knew bugger all and confused the innocent people who was after help.

Since he was booted off things was better until now

Hi Jimmy,

Thats a good question,

I will remind all the club chairman that you have a section here and to post any info on races and clubs on here as well as the usual forums.

Other than that i guess you could have club sections etc just like you have for 1/10th here.

I would have said in the past keep OOple for just 1/10th. but the format here is so relaxed and good. As long as you got good mods which i can honestly say i have never seen an issue with any then i am sure you can expand into other classes no problem.

BTW Jimmy thanks for the hardwork running OOple.

Even though i work for a distibutor I have a great passion for all things RC and want to put back as much as i can into a hobby which has been good to me over the years. So If i can help a club or an individual I will and i do so in my own time.
