Default New Off Road Track

You may or may not be aware that we are developing our electric off road track to make it a permanent off road track that will require no setting up or putting away. Our on road track is being resurfaced this week and so will be nice, new and smooth! We will then be one of the few clubs in the country able to offer permanent off and on road track at one facility.

We would like to hear any views or thoughts on the new off road track. It will be mostly astroturf with some features built in. The committee will then be deciding on the new layout at our next meeting.

Thanks

Alan

I'd suggest you chat with people who have done it before, there are lots of simple little pit falls that it is easy to fall into

any idea on timescales? will the regionals be run on the new track?

I used to love the old Broxtowe multi-surface - it used to be one of the best tracks around IMO

well done at getting a new track surface underway

as for ideas - good drainage so you can race outside during the winter...

Definitely talk to people who have done it before! It'll make things a a lot easier and save you the grief of having to rebuild if it doesn't work first time out.

Our club is in the process of building a new astroturf track and up to now it has taken 2 months of hard work on weekends and it still isn't finished completely!

Here is the thread where I have been posting pics of our progress --> http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43151
