Default Speed Passion LPF speedo - OK for 4wd?

I'll need to get an additional speedo when I get my new 4wd and due to budget contraints(!) I'm looking at the Speed Passion LPF range.

Does anyone currently run this in their 4wd and what do I need to be aware of? According to the SP website, there is a 6.5R limit when using Lipo, which should be fine.

My other option is to put the LRP Sphere Comp that I have in my B4 into the 4wd and put the SP into the B4...

Do I need to run the cooling fans on either of these in a 4wd?

Thanks

as it stands, I have a SP 7.5 but might consider using a 6.5 if that doesn't seem quick enough.

Have you raced before etc?

i think there are a few people using the LPF in a 4WD with no probs with a 6.5. Have a search and you should find them

I run a SP 7.5 in my B44, without problems (indoors), but if i was thinking of running the 6.5R (which I would be at least outdoors), then I would plump for the higher spec Pro version, just to be on the safe side.

HTH a bit

I have an LPF on order for my Cougar SV with a 7.5 and I'm using a 7.5 with the GT Pro in my Cat SX. Both the 7.5 and GT are cool to touch.

just started back up after a decade off - hence the lack of kit!

The other option could be the Castle Mamba Max as this is similar price but not sure if the speedo is any good, particularly in terms of feel etc - I don't want a light switch!

I've been really impressed with my SP 7.5 motor, hence looking at the SP speedo...

thanks for your input so far.

If you run the lpf speedo hard in a 4wd it may go pop... my mates did.. running 4 lpf's in 2wd down to 7.5 motors.. i think thats within the safe zone for the lpf...excellent speedo.. none have ever missed a beat!
Also.. using the pro in an x6... very punchy and feels much better.. in comparison the lpf feels a tad flat! Value for money and reliability i think the speed passion speedos and motors are hard to beat imo.
hope that helps
