Default Idler Gear Set : Recommended Motor / Gearing?

Just received one of the new idler gear kits from Atomic Carbon. Seems like the smallest pinion that can be run is 25T - is that correct?

I'm wondering what kind of pinions and motor setups are recommended for this.

I'm primarily running on a small-medium technical dirt track which is generally medium-loose in grip.

Thanks.

i've got a 23 on and im pretty sure i could go smaller. Are you using the morot plate or did you drill your own holes?

I got the same idler kits and with any pinion smaller than 25, the motor screws will foul the idler. See pic.

Also, do I have to mod the stock losi gear cover if I want to use that?

8,5T motor, 25/78 gearing, just perfect

Btw: I ran the car with a 24 pinion without any issues...

Put a small spacer behind the idlear gear to step it out a touch? I havent got a kit so i dont know. So the motor screw can sit slightly behind it.

I have ran an SP V3.0 8.5 with 23T on my CR2 SE would have a larger pinion if I was running outdoors. It went very well.

hmmm actually i lied...its a 22 just looking again, but the screw squeezes under without fowling because i have the red carbon motor mount which has a small indentation so the screw sits further in.
