Default Control Tyre

After speaking to a few people about how long a set of tyre are lasting at the club, what do people think about having a control tyre like Schumacher blues which should have a longer life span.

Yeah i would agree, shumi pin blues , but may be on club championship nites, only cos some people use old tyres from worksop meetings.

Pete, for people that havent ran at Seaham, do you mean that yellows arent lasting long enough but you get lots of grip or are you thinking blues just because they last longer due to them being harder.

For me, ive got loads of tyres from other events that will be ace for Seaham(apparently!) so buying Blues is a bit crap. Most people set their cars up using yellows so going to Blue would make setups change aswell.

Not a dig but just want some clarification?

Why have a control tyre? No point.

I use worn yellow mini pins and they are as good as out.

Thats what i was unsure about?? If worn yellows are good then why change things? Who will that suit? Surely everybody has worn yellows of some type??

Unless T-Shirt Pete is opening a model shop??

Default tyred

at ribble vally they have enforced a controll tyre and it is awful. they allowed worn pins then banned em again. was alot of messing and they not as busy as the controll tyre was hard to set up and you could only use em at that club. i no i not local but i no of the fuss a strict trye rule can bring. thanks

I'm not bothered about a control tyre, it has been talked about by a few regulars, that a set of yellows last 2 meetings. So the idea was to move to a longer lasting tyres.

As for setup shouldn't it change for different clubs and tracks anyway.
