Default OMG....Sixty Three (Part Deux)

Another fantastic turnout last night of 63 drivers over 9 heats, and all run like clockwork

I'd like to know what other clubs get this sort of turnout for a midweek bash - perhaps our PRO could do some digging and let us all know?

Big thanks for Mr Crew for another quick and flowing track. And huge kudos to Mr Baker for stepping in with an ESC to help young Ben Creaser out (and his mums purse!)

How can we spread the word of our success to other clubs? Mr Church - your department?

Default Yes another brilliant evening

63 drivers, what an atmosphere, another great evening marred only by the fact that one or two of us had problems locating transponders for our heats, the time lapse between heats doesn't allow for tracking these items down, I appreciate that with the number of drivers things have to move smartly along in order to finish at a reasonable time so it would be nice if the drivers first priority was to return the transponders for the next heat, I am fairly new to the club so maybe this has been aired before if so I apologise for repeating.
Maybe the way ahead is to have personal transponders something I am now going to look into.
On a final note I have to agree that the tracks being laid out by Mr Crew (and helpers) are always intersting and challenging so a big thanks to them.

Regards (old yorkie) and (reckless Sam)

You're spot on - it must be emphasised that those drivers running handout transponders MUST return them to the rack IMMEDIATELY after their heat. This takes priority over putting your car on charge or anything else. With 9 heats, even if you don't put your car on charge until you've done marshalling, there's still plenty of time to charge your battery.

Perhaps moving the transponder rack to somewhere easier to access is possible? Also it would be a visual reminder to those using handouts to return them quickly - and may also remind those who occasionally forget to fit them in their car for their race!!!

Hi Dave, nice to see you are still working hard, yes maybe moving it would be a good idea as it is quite busy round that area where the control computer is, it could prove dificult as with the club being so popular most space is at a premium, at some clubs (touring cars)they have a scruteneer bench where cars and transmitters are left straight after the heat/final this works well as the transponders are removed by the scruteneer/drivers before leaving to marshall, I know our club doesn't have the above facility which is a pity because it does work well.

Ah well back to brain storming,

Regards Dave (old yorkie) and (reckless) Sam

63 again! Amazing. I was chatting with Brett last night about the level of driving, we were in agreement that on the whole it has got alot more competetive. For example not so long ago if you were 3 laps behind Neil, Ed or Stu you were doing well and pretty much in the top 10 drivers. Last night just shows how close things have got as myself and Brett were capable of doing 12 second laps, lap after lap after lap and on the odd occasion dipping into the 11's, now for us mere mortal drivers that wasnt too shabby nor to far off of the top boys being just 1 maybe 2 laps behind the quickest chaps. But just 1 mistake that maybe gave you a 16 or 17 second lap would blow the heat appart and see you well out of the top 10.....! so what i think im trying to say is bring it on! not only is the club growing but the driving talent is also at a fantastaic standard which brings with it great, close racing.

its mad now...theres at least 25+ people who are fast and can make the top 10 now!
the advent of lipo and brushless has made a huge difference, not just about having the right car either.
oh,63 and there was a couple missing too.
bring on next week! yippee

Totally agree mate, the standard is very high and everyone has their own personal races.

Seconds different in finish times can cost you quite a few places.

Time to squeeze that extra nano second out of the cat

Hi Yorkie,

I'm sorry you had an issue with transponder 'availability' yesterday. I wasn't aware there were problems. We will see what we can do to tighten that ship up.

Regards,
Jon.
