Used it, at first they were useless, then when I threw a few legal terms in, they backed up and sorted out the problem.

it was a while ago, and was over negative feedback being left on me, as a buyer due to me leaving negative feedback due to really poor and slow service, so put in to eBay that he was wrong to do so, they said that they wouldn't intervene, told them as a Buyer, I paid promptly as soon as I won the auction and provided all my details, by the seller leaving negative feedback, that was defamation of my account and could affect further purchases.

They removed it right away.

Used it once - it worked out in my favour, and I got the funds back.

The procedure is clear on the site, but in my case it basically boiled down to opening a "dispute" which lets the recipient of the funds know that you're officially annoyed.

You've then got just over a month to email back and forth with the recipeint to resolve it yourselves.

If they arent reasonable, or just don't respond at all (what happened in my case), you can escalate the "dispute" to a "claim" as long as the deadline has not passed.

Once you put in the "claim", PayPal arbitrate. In my case, I had the funds back within hours.

Your mileage may vary, but hope this helps,
Ty

The only time I've had a problem with ebay, just the threat of using the resolution centre was enought to sort it out...it was an RC company in the US that never delivered...they returned the money to me within hours of me mentioning it

If you have contacted the seller as proposed by ebay resolution centre and he wont co-operate then file a complaint and raise it to a dispute.
Tick the
I received an item that does not match the seller's description. box.
You are protected by Paypal and if it is credited from your credit card they protect you too. It will take some time but its worth doing and also refuse to pay return costs. Why should you lose out.

3 weeks ago i sold a XX4 to the USA and the guy paid immediately, the day after i got a message from paypal stating 'the buyer or the buyers bank have reversed the payment', anyway to cut a long story short after the guy had taken out a resolution case it turns out that paypal froze the funds initially for no apparent reason they still however investigated the case (which they caused) and found in favour of the buyer even though i provided them with a scanned copy of postage receipt including address it was sent to, date, cost, tracking number, weight and signature, and they have given him his money back!

However, i have been in regular contact with the guy who's a racer and seems spot on, so when the package arrives with him i/we will be rocketing paypal big time about all the agro, and the incomprehensible fact that they found in favour of the buyer for a dispute they caused and even though all aspects from both sides had been proved - They basically argued against themsleves and found me at fault .

In summary paypals and ebays resolution centres are far from perfect, and in my case they were totally inept.
